What is COVID-19 Green Certification (Green Pass)?

The COVID-19 Green Certification was introduced by the European Commission to facilitate the safe movement of citizens. It is a certification in digital and printable format, which contains a QR Code to verify its authenticity and validity.

- being negative to the rapid antigenic test within the last 48 hours or to the PCR test within the last 72 hours
- have been recovered from COVID-19 for no more than six months.

If I make a reservation and then I'm not allowed to travel, do I lose what I paid for?

NO, you don't! The Code of Tourism provides that if there is a cause of force majeure that prevents the use of the booked service, the customer is entitled to compensation.

This means that, regardless of insurance, should there be any impediments imposed by law (such as lockdowns or measures prohibiting the entry of tourists) you will be entitled to a refund (or other form of compensation to be agreed with the supplier).

Is it useful to add a cancellation insurance policy to my booking?

Yes, in fact it's highly recommended. The services that you book for your holiday have cancellation policies that may include penalties depending on when you cancel. The insurance covers penalties that depend on individual, documented problems of the customer in using the service. For example, the insurance will compensate you if you contract an illness (including Covid-19) or suffer any other injury, or if you incur costs as a result of being forced to extend your stay due to quarantine, or if you are unable to go on holiday due to quarantine. To view all cases and conditions, please refer to the Information Sheet.

What safety measures will ferries and facilities take in Italy?

All operators are obliged to comply with legal requirements.
